Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) is an automobile Joint Ventures founded on September, 1995. The total initial investment capital was 89.6 million USD, from Toyota Motor Corporation (70%), Vietnam Engine & Agriculture Machinery Corporation - VEAM (20%) and KUO Singapore Pte.Ltd (10%).

As one of the first automobile joint ventures in Vietnam market, TMV has been showing our utmost efforts for sustainable development and "Moving Forward” with Vietnam. TMV has and will continue to provide high quality products and perfect after-sales service for higher satisfaction of our customers, as well as contribute positively to the development of automobile industry and Vietnam society.

Since the foundation, TMV has been growing up and constantly developing, both in production scale and in sales volume. Currently, with 5 CKD models: Camry, Corolla, Vios, Innova and Fortuner and 6 CBU models: Land Cruiser, Prado, Hiace, Hilux, Yaris and Toyota 86, TMV always keep the leading position in Vietnam automobile market, with the annual output of over 38,000 vehicles / year (with two working shifts). TMV’s cumulative sale volume has reached over 300,000 units and almost Toyota CKD products always take high position in the Top ten selling vehicles in Vietnam. From 11 employees in its early days, TMV has employed more than 1,800 people and covering more than 4,000 employees working in 40 dealers/ dealer’s branches and authorized service stations nationwide.

Making positive contribution to development of Vietnam automobile and supporting industry always is one of the premier targets of TMV. Up to now, TMV has the highest localization rate among the automobile makers in Vietnam. TMV has pioneered applying stamping technology in Vietnam from 2003 and become the first manufacture has complete production line included 5 steps : Press- Welding- Painting- Assembly and Final Inspection. Besides, TMV has also successfully called for investment from other Toyota spare parts manufactures to Vietnam. Starting from July 2004, Toyota Auto parts Export Center has the average export turnover of 28 million USD annually and the accumulated figure of nearly 290 million USD after more than 10 operation years. Currently, TMV has exported 3 products, including Antenna assy, ERG valves, Accelerator Pedal Module to 13 countries in the world.

Not only striving to make “better cars” and leading the automobile market, TMV also commits to be a GOOD CITIZEN in Vietnam by many long-term, practical and meaningful Social Contribution Relationship activities to contribute to Vietnam society such as Toyota Traffic Safety Education Program, Monozukuri Courses, Toyota Concert, Robocon… and many other activities. Besides, TMV always pursues the environmental friendly technology, raises the awareness of the company’s staff about environment protection, and deploys a series of activities relating to environment for social community. With this direction, TMV has honorably become the first car manufacturer in Vietnam granted the ISO 14001 Certificate on Environmental Management System since May 1999.

Throughout 19 years in Vietnam, with the unremitting efforts of all TMV staffs, dealers, suppliers and partners, TMV has gained great achievements with continuous growth; fulfilling the mission to customers with significant contributions to the automotive industry and society in Vietnam. With these achievements, TMV was honored to receive the third medal by the Government of Vietnam Labor Medal and is regarded as one of the most successful FDI enterprises in Vietnam.


The Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation is a State-owned enterprise which operates under the parent-subsidiary model. The corporation started its operations in 2004 according to Decision No. 172/2004/QĐ-UB by the HCM City People’s Committee with the Saigon Automobile Mechanical Company established in 1975 as the parent company.

With nearly 30 member companies, the charter capital amounting to VND 1,611 billion and a workforce of 8,600, the corporation currently operates in the following five business fields:

(1) Industrial production: manufacture coaches, buses and special purpose trucks; build ships.
(2) Trade and services: a dealer and provider of auto services for vehicles manufactured by world-famous automakers such as Toyota, Mercedes, Isuzu, Mitsubishi…
(3) Passenger transport: undertake public, inter-provincial and tourist passenger transport; operate major coach terminals in HCM City.
(4) Cagro transport: transport cargo, provide logistical servives; operate seaports and river ports.
(5) Construction: implementation of transportation projects including bridges, roads, wharves and civil engineering.

For more than 10 year of development, the corporation’s business performance grew year on year. In 2014, the corporation reached a turnover of over VND 15,855 billion, with nearly VND 3,030 billion contributed to the State budget. The corporate business performance made a significant contribution to HCM City’s socio-economic development.

With its remarkable achievements, the corporation won honorable awards, included among which was the second-grade Independence Order awarded by the President in 2010.
